To prepare yummy banana ice cream, you first need to peel and cut the bananas into desired sizes. This can be done by hand, but if you’re pressed for time I’d recommend using a mandoline slicer. Once you have the bananas chopped up into small chunks, remove the seeds from each individual banana. Then cut the bananas into desired sizes with a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer.
Next, lay the bananas flat on a wooden cutting board. Next, scoop out the insides of each banana. The inside will contain a number of little pockets which hold the ingredients in. These ingredients include vanilla and milk, plus the pulp. You don’t want to put too much milk into the mixture, otherwise the ice cream will become too thick.
Vanilla extract is a great addition to this recipe and I like to drizzle it on. When adding milk I usually only add enough to just slightly thin the ice cream so that it doesn’t become too thick.
Next, drizzle over your favorite fruit or toppings and add your frozen bananas. If you have any left over raisins or strawberries it works well with them as well. Add any nuts that you like, such as almonds or cashews and enjoy your new twist on yummy banana ice cream!
